- What is a Credito credit builder account?
A Credit Builder Account is a financial product that is designed to improve your credit score. When you make your monthly payment this is reported to the credit reference agencies, in the same way a personal loan repayment or mortgage payment is reported.
These successful payments build up your credit history, indicating to lenders that you are able to responsibly borrow money and pay it back over a period of time.
It is important to know that no funds are received as part of the credit agreement signed for a Credito credit builder account.
Credito's credit builder service is structured as an exempt credit agreement and is unregulated.
- What is CreditoCheck?
CreditoCheck allows customers to check what their credit score is for FREE! With CreditoCheck your score is updated every 30 days.
This plan is no longer available to new customers.
- What is CreditoBuilder?
CreditoBuilder is perfect for building and/or improving your credit score by allowing you to pay off an interest-free credit builder loan each month which is provided by Credit Builder Loans Ltd. Every month providing a successful payment is made to Credito, we will report these payments to the main credit agencies to help build and improve your credit history and score. After a year, your interest-free loan will be fully repaid. This means you’ll have 12 months of successful repayment history recorded with the credit agencies.
- What is CreditoPlus?
CreditoPlus customers benefit from not only a CreditoBuilder account but also have the guidance and support of our expert Personal Credit Coaches. Our Credit coaches will check in with our customers every month to keep the customer’s financial wellbeing in check. In addition to personal coaching our Plus members also benefit from CreditoRentals for private/council tenants. This provides an additional boost for tenants/renters and a second line of credit is reported to the main credit agencies.
- I can't login to my Credito account
If your username and password are not being accepted for any reason, please use the “forgot my password” feature. You will then receive an email with instructions on how to reset your password.
- How much does a Credito membership cost?
We have different plans available, you can compare them here.
- Can I upgrade my membership to CreditoBuilder or CreditoPlus?
Absolutely, this can be done by logging into your Credito account. You will receive the new benefits instantly.
- Can I downgrade my CreditoPlus to CreditoBuilder?
You can review and select any available downgrade within your online “Account” section. Or, get in touch with us via the 'contact us' page.
- How do I cancel my Credito Account?
If you want to cancel your Credito account you can do so within your online “Account” section. Or, by one of the other methods listed on the 'contact us' page.
- Can you guarantee that my credit score will improve?
The time it takes to improve your credit score varies. Improving your score is not guaranteed and depends on a number of factors.
We report your Credito payments to TransUnion UK Ltd, Equifax and Crediva who can help to build your credit profile. A missed payment on any credit account can negatively affect your credit score.
- How do I apply for a refund if my score does not increase?
Don't worry, you do not need to make an application to claim your money back.
If you have successfully completed a 12 month CreditoPlus membership and have not seen your score increase, the Credito team will contact you via email within 30 days of completion of your plan.
- Why can’t I see my credit score?
If you are struggling to see your credit score this might be because you have what's called a “thin credit file”. If you are not sure if this is the case and do not know what to do next, call the Credito team on 0345 222 0157*
- What additional support do you offer?

Hearing or speech impairment

Relay UK is a service operated by BT for deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech-impaired people. It works by way of allowing a Relay Assistant (RA) to join the conversation between a customer and a third party. The RA will introduce the call and explain how the Relay UK service works if necessary. The RA will then type the third party’s conversation for the customer to read. The customer can either type a reply or just speak through the phone as normal.
Visual Impairment
The team can provide additional support for visually impaired customers by offering documents such as our terms and conditions, privacy policy and credit agreement in either braille or large print. To request a copy please contact a member of the team via phone, chat or email.
- Can I change my payment date?
Yes, we understand your circumstances can change. Navigate to our Mobile App where you can view and change your payment date under the “My Account” menu.
